  • Control Valve of Oil Pump

There are nearly 50,000 oil and gas wells in Colorado. Some have not produced in years. Recent changes in COGCC rules finally make it possible for landowners to require plugging and reclamation of wells on their property. Oil and gas companies have a responsibility to remove unproductive oil and gas facilities.

In some cases, oil and gas operators are no longer in business. In this case, landowners have the opportunity to request state and federal assistance to have those orphaned wells, well pads, and pipelines properly plugged and reclaimed. For much of Colorado, it is time to close out oil and gas operations and allow the land to be used for other purposes.

Call Attorney Sura to find out how we can assist you regain control of their property from low producing oil and gas operations.
